Renal transplantation during adolescence is a well-established risk factor for long-term graft loss.  Using the USRDS database, this retrospective cohort study analyzes the graft outcomes of over 18,000 young kidney transplant recipients (<21 yrs of age) and identifies age-specific death-censored graft failure rates and hazard ratios of graft loss, compared to an older cohort of patients transplanted between 25-29 years of age.  Also see the accompanying commentary.
