Doppler tissue imaging in children following cardiac transplantation: A comparison to catheter-derived hemodynamics

In this study, the authors continue the quest to identify echocardiography-derived indices sensitive enough to diagnose or predict rejection, or further down the road, maybe even early coronary allograft vasculopathy.  Though the primary aim was not proven (the ratio of early mitral inflow velocity compared to annular tissue velocity, septal E:Ea; did not correlate with left ventricular filling pressures), some interesting relationships were observed relating markers of Doppler tissue imaging, elevated wedge pressures and cellular rejection.
