Heart transplantation outcomes from cardiac arrest-resuscitated donors.

CPR requiring donors, utilized and identified in the UNOS database tended to be younger and had a mean CPR time of 20 minutes. Despite resucitation times, use of carefully selected donors requiring CPR did not impact recipient outcomes including patient and graft survival. The authors hypothesize that ischemic preconditioning may influence the non-inferior outcomes.
