Donors with hepatitis C virus (HCV) have often not been used for kidney transplants because of concerns of infecting the recipient with hepatitis C. This paper reports long-term outcomes of transplanting HCV+ kidneys into HCV+ recipients. There was no difference in patient or graft survival among recipients of HCV+ or HCV- kidneys, and very few deaths due to liver disease.
