Monoclonal gammopathy of unknown significance (MGUS) is often benign but can progress to myeloma in some cases. Whether immunosuppression increases the risk of progression is unknown. In this retrospective study, MGUS was not associated with progression to myeloma, amyloid or lymphoma post-transplant. MGUS should not be considered a contraindication to transplant.
