This issue is special edition of Pediatric Clinics of North America that delves into the interface between children’s mental health and transplantation. Dr. Stuber provides an extensive review of the latest knowledge on psychosocial and psychiatric aspects related to pediatric solid organ transplantation, covering the spectrum from pre-transplant assessment to long term post transplantation. Issues addressed include pre transplant psychiatric considerations for evaluation, through to long-term quality of life, and considers complex topics such as suicide attempt, pregnancy after transplant, adherence, and post traumatic stress syndrome.
