This is the largest ever randomized controlled trial in renal transplantation. It compared standard-dose cyclosporine without antibody therapy to an IL-2 receptor antibody (daclizumab) with either low-dose cyclosporine, tacrolimus or sirolimus. The tacrolimus arm not only had the highest GFR at 1 year post-transplant and the lowest acute rejection rate, but also the highest graft survival.
