The incidence and outcomes related to post-lung transplant central airway stenosis (CAS) vary in the literature. This study aimed to identify the incidence of CAS in a large cohort of lung transplant recipients at a single centre and study the association with development of bronchiolitis obliterans syndrome (BOS) and survival. Of 467 transplanted patients, 13% developed CAS requiring intervention. Of these patients, 37% had resolution with bronchoplasty, and 53% eventually required stent replacement. Incidence of BOS and death was not increased in patients with CAS requiring intervention.
