Urinary-Cell mRNA Profile and Acute Cellular Rejection in Kidney Allografts

.   .

The gold standard fro diagnosing acute rejection remains biopsy. A non-invasive test that could reliably diagnose rejection would be an important step forward. In this study, a set of three different RNA molecules in the urine of renal transplant recipients showed a high degree of sensitivity for acute cellular rejection, and distinguished it from antibody-mediated rejection. It was not affected by the type of induction immunosuppression the patients had received.
