Right ventricular failure (RVF) following left ventricular assist device (LVAD) implantation can be a challenging if not catastrophic event.  The risk assessment strategies for right ventricular failure vary in complexity. This article by Mancini et al, demonstrates that the preoperativeLVechocardiographic RVF score, focusing on only left-sided parameters could accurately predict the development of RVF after LVAD implantation.
